VIDEO: Deaf News: Miss Universe Australia claims she has 'healed' a Deaf African child by putting her fingers in the girl's ear and praying twice in an Easter 'miracle'.
KAMPALA, UG -- Daily Mail: A model has claimed she cured a Deaf African child by praying twice and putting her fingers in the girl's ear in an Easter 'miracle'.
Rebecca Ronald, who has featured in campaigns for Lorna Jane and Billabong, was working with young children in Uganda when she 'healed' the girl using the 'power of faith'.
The Miss Universe Australia finalist took to Instagram to share the story and claimed that after she uttered the words 'you are about to hear for the first time', the young girl was instantly cured.
The model, who is from Palm Beach, on the Gold Coast, posted a picture of her and a group of African children - one of whom she singled out as the girl she healed.
'As Riley & I were preaching, she stood out to me & I had such a compassion for her,' she wrote.
'Afterwards while we were praying for each individual, I asked her to come aside & as I went to speak, her friend intervened to say that she was Deaf.
'I had just finished preaching on what God had been teaching me about; the power of Faith.. and knowing my God can do all things, I said to her, 'you are about to hear for the first time'.
'I prayed once - nothing happened, then I felt Holy Spirit say, put your fingers in her ear and command them to open.
'Sounds easy, but in the moment, it can be the hardest thing because is requires the very thing I taught on, Faith with power which opposes human reasoning - so I did and when I finished praying, her face lit up and overjoyed she said 'I can HEAR for the first time!!!!''
She said that this was an example of the 'Heavenly Father's' love in action.
'The Lord told me to expect miracles this trip & miracles is what we are seeing,' she said.
'While westerners think they are the blessed ones not living in poverty, I disagree because these easterners get it, and I believe that is why I have never witnessed the power of God like I have here.'

VIDEO [CC] Deaf News: Deaf church treasurer, sex offender, charged with molesting disabled churchgoer in Kansas.
OVERLAND PARK, KS (KCTV) -- A Deaf church treasurer, who is a convicted sex offender, is in jail after he was accused of molesting a church goer who has disabilities.
Rodney Sexton is charged with aggravated sexual battery. He is accused of molesting a 31-year-old man, who is Deaf and functions like an 8 year old.
Sexton made his first court appearance on Monday. A judge set his bond at $100,000 cash only.
Sexton is treasurer at Deaf Liberty Baptist Church in Overland Park, Kansas. It's unclear if his convictions from the mid-1980s for sex crimes were known.
Sexton is on the roster to teach sign language at Maple Woods Community College in January and he has apparently taught at the Metropolitan Community College in the past, according to online records.
Because of the Christmas holiday, KCTV5 could not reach community college representatives for comment.
The mother of the 31-year-old victim is heartbroken and angry. She wants to know whether church leaders knew about Sexton's background.
"I think people knew," the mother said. "This should never happen to another family."
In the mid-1980s, Sexton faced six felony sex charges involving a child. He was convicted on two counts and served time in a Kansas prison. He is not listed on the Kansas Sex Offender Registry because his convictions occurred before 1994.
He was released from prison in 1989 and released from probation four years later.
The victim's mother said her son loves his church and trusted Sexton. She said Sexton pressured her son to keep the molestation secret.
"This shouldn't happen to anybody sitting in a church or at school. This needs to be stopped," the mother told KCTV5. "My boy deserves to be protected."
People with special needs are four times more likely to be abused because they often don't realize they are being abused or they cannot articulate about the abuse. Source

After claiming in an explosive CNN article Monday that he began losing his faith in God after being overworked and underpaid at a church run by a tyrannical, golf-loving pastor who made $80,000 a year, Deaf pastor turned atheist, Justin Vollmar, is being dismissed as a "vengeful, pathological liar," who needs to "repent" of his sins by his old church.
"The word that he is spreading about myself and the church is not good and we are going to have to shun him until he is ready to apologize to us. But apparently he is choosing a worse road. I believe the devil is winning him," said Terry Michael Buchholz, senior pastor of the Hampshire View Baptist Deaf Church in Silver Spring, Maryland., where Vollmar worked for seven years.
Vollmar ran the Virtual Deaf Church online for four years before proclaiming in a YouTube video Friday that he is now an atheist, renouncing the virgin birth and the belief that Jesus is the Son of God who was raised from the dead, as well as the Bible being the word of God.
"There is no such thing as Holy Spirit. Word of God is NOT inspired God-breathed book. Church is completely men's invention. All I believe previously as a Christian have been…has been turned upside," he said in complete renunciation of his faith.
"I am coming out of closet. I no longer believe in God. I am an Atheist now. This video explains my journey to doubt."
On Monday, he detailed his descent into atheism in a first-person account published by CNN. He charged that he began losing his faith in Christianity after an experience with an unnamed Christian senior pastor at a church in Silver Spring, Md.
Vollmar said he was made to work "for little pay" for seven years while the senior pastor pulled down a salary of $80,000 a year and lived a life of leisure.
"I was a pastor in Silver Spring, Maryland, working 60 hours a week for little pay. My senior pastor was a harsh taskmaster, scolding me and always pushing me to work harder. Meanwhile, he earned $80,000 a year and played golf two times a week. I lived in poverty and did not see my children much. I got burned out," wrote Vollmar.
"I resigned my position and was shunned by the church. My faith in God was severely shaken. I started to have doubts about the Bible's claims. I questioned whether God's love, which is supposed to reside inside Christians, was real," he said.
In Vollmar's work history on his Linkedin profile, he lists himself as a vlogger and community leader shows that he worked as an associate pastor at Hampshire View Baptist Deaf Church in Silver Spring, Md.
The Christian Post contacted the church on Wednesday, and church worker Dan Nemeth as well as pastor Buchholz disputed several of the claims Vollmar makes in the article, and called him a liar. ... I left Gallaudet University, the nation’s premier school for Deaf students, to enroll at Capital Baptist Deaf College, where I graduated with an unaccredited bachelor's degree in pastoral studies.
For the next seven years, I was a pastor in Silver Spring, Maryland, working 60 hours a week for little pay. My senior pastor was a harsh taskmaster, scolding me and always pushing me to work harder. Meanwhile, he earned $80,000 a year and played golf two times a week. I lived in poverty and did not see my children much. I got burned out.
I resigned my position and was shunned by the church. My faith in God was severely shaken. I started to have doubts about the Bible’s claims. I questioned whether God’s love, which is supposed to reside inside Christians, was real. Still, I didn’t quit the church.

But that pit-of-the-stomach worry stayed, as I wondered whether I would leave the church and go through another shunning.
During that time, I established an online preaching ministry, Virtual Deaf Church, for Deaf people like myself. I had a fairly sizable audience - averaging 3,000 viewers for each video or vlog - about the same as a good-sized flesh-and-blood congregation.
But I still had lots of spiritual questions and studied shelves of theological books in search of answers. I struggled with many more contradictions I continued to discover.
For example, how could dozens of Christian denominations fight and call each other false churches? Why are there thousands of conflicting interpretations among Christians?
